From 9.00am – 12.00 noon, visitors can enjoy complimentary coffee and cakes, see behind the scenes at the surgery, meet the team, enter a competition to win free routine veterinary care for a whole year and can also take advantage of a special microchipping promotion.
Microchipping is a great way to ensure that pets that have strayed, or even worse are stolen, can be easily and permanently identified, maximising the chances of reuniting owner and loved pet. The special offer price for animals brought along on the day is £9.50 per animal, and for every microchip implanted, £2.50 will go to the owner’s nominated pet-related charity.
“National pet week is all about celebrating and promoting responsible pet ownership,” explains vet John Taylor. “Pets play an important role in our families and give us great pleasure, but the owners’ part of the bargain is to ensure that our animals’ health and welfare is top of the priority list.
“If you have any questions about caring for your pet, the open day is a great opportunity to gather information and come and talk through any concerns,” Mr Taylor concludes.
