John Taylor - Veterinary Surgeon

Mansion Hill is owned and run by John Taylor MA VetMB MRCVS, an experienced veterinary surgeon with the desire to offer something special in terms of veterinary care.

"The main factor that sets the practice at Middleton Cheney apart is the level of personalised service. The highest standards of client service and animal care are the practice's top priorities," says John.

After qualifying from Cambridge University in 2000, John joined the Royal Army Veterinary Corps, where he was on the front-line of the battle against Foot and Mouth Disease. After his time in the Army, John specialised in equine veterinary medicine for two years, then went on to work in a variety of large and small animal practices amassing considerable experience and a flair for orthopaedics.

Outside work, John is a regular action-man! A keen runner, rugby player, surfer and snowboarder, he enjoys nothing more than to feel the wind in his face and get outside in the elements! These interests plus his dogs, Charlie, Nino & Tally, ensure he stays trim and healthy which is handy as he loves his food and can eat the equivalent of half a mini every day.

Emma Middleton - Veterinary Surgeon

Emma Middleton MRCVS qualified as a vet in 2007 from Liverpool, already having gained a degree in Animal Science from Nottingham in 2001. She immediately started work in a veterinary hospital, moving after a year to a smaller practice where she frequently was entrusted with sole charge responsibility, and was nominated for the PetPlan vet of the year in 2009. Emma joined us in December 2010 after working to improve the welfare of laboratory animals in Oxford.

"I relish the challenge and rewards of small animal general practice and take pride in delivering an exceptionally high standard of patient and client care."

Emma is the proud owner of Amos, a chocolate Labrador who enjoys lounging around in the practice kitchen hoping for a few crumbs!

Angela Taylor - Practice Manager

Angela is in control of the day-to-day running of the practice, ensuring we provide an outstanding all-round service to clients and their animals.

Having accrued 5 years experience in marketing and market intelligence in the animal health and agricultural sectors, Angela is in a great position to ensure we stay on track with our services and keep meeting and exceeding our clients' expectations.

Always happiest with a dog by her side, Angela has a strong affinity with animals and is keen to develop her interests and understanding of animal behaviour.

Outside of work, Angela is also an outdoorsy sort and can be found dog walking, horse-riding, surfing and, very occasionally, running. The rest of the time she is kept busy keeping her husband - Mansion Hill's very own vet - fed, watered and content - a full time job in itself!

Ruth Hornsby - Qualified Veterinary Nurse

Ruth passed her Veterinary Nursing exams in January 2010 and is part of our nursing team

After becoming involved as a volunteer at an animal and reptile rescue centre, Ruth made the life-changing decision to pursue a career in animal care. Before starting her two year nursing course in 2007, Ruth received an Animal Welfare HNC at Warwickshire College.

Ruth also keeps everyone at Mansion Hill in line, something that comes naturally as she is a long-standing member of the Air Training Corps and currently holds a commission in the Royal Air Force Volunteer Reserve as a Flying Officer.

Ruth and her husband have four dogs - 2 dotty Dalmatians, a shaggy Heinz 57 and a cheeky Harry - lucky, loved poopa-doos, enjoying long yomps round the Warwickshire countryside!

Linda Bowen - Qualified Veterinary Nurse

Linda is also a qualified Veterinary Nurse who completed her training at Berkshire Royal Agricultural College in 1998

She joined Mansion Hill in October 2008 and is now running free pet healthcare clinics in weight control, dentistry and young animal health checks.

She has an interest in animal behaviour and is currently taking a diploma in this area.

Linda has a busy home life in Middleton Cheney with two small children, three cats and two dogs, not to mention a long suffering husband!

Stacey Hooper - Qualified Veterinary Nurse

Stacey Hooper is another Middleton Cheney resident and joined Mansion Hill in December 2010.

After 3 years in practice January 2011 saw Stacey qualify as a fully fledged registered VN. As well as having a house full of animals, Stacey is a key member of the darts and dominoes team at the New Inn and is Ladies Champion of the Banbury and District Aunt Sally League (still waters run deep!)

Tess Merry - Receptionist Administrator

ess Merry joined the practice in August 2010 as our Reception Administrator. Tess has worked in the wildlife hospital Tiggywinkles as a nurse, is a fine arts botanical illustrator and is a graphic designer.

Tess lives in the villae -some of you may know her up until recently as our local postie! Tess has a housefull of waifs and strays- Nevis the guinea pig, Hocus the cat and Colin the tortoise. She recently married Big Colin... no relation to little Colin!

Beth Parkinson - Receptionist

Beth is the newest member of our team having started in January 2011.

Beth is a qualified (human) acupuncturist and massage therapist, and she finds the care of mind, body and soul is important in healing. She lives in the village and you can also see her working at the Core Zone on Burgess Farm.

As well as a busy work life, Beth also enjoys her horses (having grown up on a farm in Derbyshire), and is the doting mother of two terriers and two ferrets.

Zoe Waddoups - Nursing Assistant

Zoe Waddoups began her role at Mansion Hill at the end of summer 2010, she is our nursing assistant and supports the clinical team in the treatment and nursing of our patients.

Zoe has always had a strong interest in animals, and in 2009 qualified from Coventry University with a degree in Aniamal Behaviour. Zoe lives in the village where she has her dog Tilly, a bouncy Springer cross.
